Autism Ontario Opportunities

Building Brighter Futures Fund (BBFF)

The purpose of BBFF is to provide financial assistance directly to autistic adults in Ontario through a reimbursement of funds spent to access greater participation in their local communities.

Program fees for recreation or skill development, respite, professional supports, tuition, or other creative solutions connected to building life plans for autistic adults will be considered for subsidy.

Successful candidates will receive reimbursement of up to $500.00. An individual may receive this subsidy only once

The David Conforti - Reach for the Stars Award

David Conforti was a remarkable and caring young man who made a difference in his community and inspired others through his volunteer work in York Region, Ontario. In order to recognize the importance of volunteering in David’s life, and to further encourage and recognize volunteerism with community impact among other people with autism, his family, together with the Autism Ontario – York Region Chapter, created The David Conforti - Reach for the Stars Award, as a lasting tribute and in memory of David Conforti’s life.

Education Scholarships

Each year, Autism Ontario awards scholarships to outstanding students entering their first year of a post-secondary program throughout Ontario. We look forward to offering this opportunity again this year when we open up online applications in April 2021

Government Funding for Adults

While the Ontario Autism Program doesn’t currently extend past the age of 18, there are some government funding options for autistic and/or disabled adults, such as the Ontario Disability Support Program, Developmental Services Ontario & Passport Funding, the Disability Tax Credit, and a Registered Disability Savings Plan.
